BLEACH, written and illustrated by Tite Kubo, is a shonen, supernatural drama. It tells the story of Ichigo Kurosaki, a young man with an attitude and the ability to see ghosts. When a wrathful spirit attacks his family, he is forced to become a Soul Reaper, a samurai capable of sending spirits to the afterlife, to save them.

We currently have Volumes 1-5 of this manga (74 total).

Bleach and Rurouni Kenshin both portray the samurai as heroic warriors, who battle to protect their people and honor from evil. This book, written by Carol Gaskin, provides a basic overview of that legendary ideal, while also providing "A Selection of Highlights of Samurai History" written by Vince Hawkins.

Bleach and Rurouni Kenshin place a lot of emphasis on their protagonist's morality and how they gradually learn to overcome their own weakness. This essay, originally written by Inazo Nitobe, explores Bushido as a system of Samurai Ethics, tying it into moral systems such as Buddhism, Confucianism, and Shintoism.

Bleach, Naruto, and Rurouni Kenshin all feature their own takes on warrior classes that actually existed in Japanese history. In this ebook, Antony Cummins dives into the very real and often gruesome details of these warriors for hire, including several authentic Japanese manuscripts that have been translated to English for the first time.

Bleach's first opening theme, "Asterisk", was performed by the rock band Orange Range. Its visuals are less focused on the actual events of the story (Ichigo becoming a Soul Reaper) and more on showcasing the series' signature sense of style. It exists as a time capsule of the early 2000s, with brief snippets of the samurai action that the series is known for.

It's a prime example of the incredible lengths that Ichigo will go to help a friend.

Though it fell out of mainstream popularity near the end of its run, diehard fans the series still swear by it.
