This guide provides information to parents of students enrolling at UACCM. Information is designed to help parents support their students on their Journey with Meaning.

Benefits & Cost

Benefits:

The UACCM High School Concurrent program provides high school students with the the opportunity to earn  a certificate/degree while enrolled in high school.

In addition to earning a credential/degree, other benefits for students who participate in the UACCM High School Concurrent program include:

  • Completion of college credit and high school credit
  • Hands-on training with state-of-the-art equipment
  • Opportunities for increased academic rigor
  • Completion of college courses at a reduced cost

 

Cost:

High school concurrent students can take courses toward a UACCM Career Center program at no cost.  The tuition, fees, and supplies for technical courses offered through the Career Center are paid by the Office of Skills Development.  For students enrolled in Career Center courses, a notification regarding the process for picking up textbooks and supplies will be sent by August 15, 2024.


Students enrolled in other career specific programs or transfer programs are able to attend UACCM at a reduced cost as mandatory fees are waived for high school concurrent students.  Some students may receive tuition assistance based on the contribution of the area school district and eligibility for the Concurrent Challenge Scholarship.

Example for a Three-Credit Hour Course:  UACCM waives mandatory fees = $141; School district pays $150; Concurrent Challenge Scholarship pays $125; Student pays $72.00.
