ADVISING

Academic advisors provide individualized consultations for all first-time entering students.  Academic advisors assist students with evaluating career goals, determining degree requirements, and registering for first semester courses.  Advisors are prepared to answer questions about the academic programs and requirements at UACCM. 

Academic advisors and faculty advisors are available to help students choose the appropriate courses each term and support students along their academic journey. Current students are encouraged to meet with their advisor regularly and are required to meet with their advisor prior to registering for classes.  Registration for the summer and fall terms generally begins at the end of March and registration for the spring term generally begins in October. 

Academic advisors also serve as success coaches for many of the first-time entering students at UACCM.  Success coaches help connect students to available resources on campus and provide extra support to students as they transition to college.

TRANSFER SERVICES

Students planning to transfer to a four-year institution can receive assistance with the transfer process in the Student Success Center. Academic advisors help guide students through the necessary steps to transfer and aid students in contacting representatives at their target institution.

Each semester, representatives from four-year institutions are on campus to allow students to find out more about transfer opportunities. Each spring semester, the campus hosts a Transfer Fair.  Representatives from several four-year institutions attend the Transfer Fair, which enables students to inquire about admissions, scholarships, and degree options.
