Occasionally, you may want a book or article that Gordon Library doesn't have. What do you do then?
We have a variety of options, and which you should use depends on the specifics of your situation.
ARKLink
The first option is ARKLink. This is a consortium (group) of Arkansas libraries that have agreed to let users within the consortium borrow certain types of materials from each other at no charge. Usually, this is restricted to books. Two key things to realize are:
Since Morrilton is so close to two larger consortial members (Pendergraft Library at Arkansas Tech and Torreyson Library at UCA) UACCM many students and faculty find it most-convenient to use ARKLink when their desired items are physical books.
Occasionally, you may need materials that cannot be retrieved through ARKLink. In this case, Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is an option.
ILL is an excellent option if you're looking for a single article or essay we do not have through any Gordon Library database. (Physical books can also be retrieved through ILL, though typically UACCM students will find it quicker and simpler to retrieve these through ARKLink.)
When using ILL, the Gordon Library must serve as a "middle man." Here's how the process works:
Step One: Email the Gordon Library Director (Mr. Lillard) at jlillard@uaccm.edu. Give him the following information:
Step Two: Mr. Lillard will put out a request for your desired materials to multiple libraries.
Step Three: Assuming a library is willing to lend their material, they will mail (or email) it directly to Gordon Library.
Step Four: Mr. Lillard will contact you through your UACCM email to
Step Five: When your checkout term for any physical items expires, you will return it to Gordon Library.
Step Six: Gordon Library will return the item(s) to the original lending library.
