"Did you notice that every page, aside from the Introduction and Miscellaneous, has a title in the same format: '[Blank]ing [Blanks]'? By keeping this consistent throughout the LibGuide, I make it clear to my audience that it was a deliberate choice and, by so doing, imply that I'm a fairly capable writer. That was cool and all, but then I went on to explain what I was doing in the very same paragraph, also implying that I'm an arrogant blowhard.
"Now, that might be true, but the fact remains that a narrative is a series of deliberate choices, always comparing what works with what doesn't. Then, in your later drafts, what works with what works better.
"The map and the compass are in your hand. You have the power to choose, so choose well. Guide your audience along the high road and maybe a few side paths as well. Make it a journey to remember."
