APA (7th ed.) for Student Papers

This is a basic introduction to formatting & citation for APA (7th ed.) student papers. There are lots of other rules (and exceptions to the rules) for different instances, so don't expect to be able to rely solely on this guide.

- Your Reference List begins with the word References (NOT "Works Cited" as is the case in MLA style). This should be center-aligned at the top of the page.

- Reference List citations should be presented in what's called "hanging indent" format. (You can think of it as the reverse of a regular paragraph.)
