Research consultations are a type of one-on-one research coaching offered at an increasing number of libraries. The idea is NOT that this be used to conduct basic-level research instruction.
Rather, research consultations are intended to help students who are already working on a specific project and topic and who have "hit a wall" in their research. This is why our research consultation form asks students to provide us information on what steps they have already taken.
Consultations require at least a 24-hour lead time and last for 20 minutes. Unlike group instruction sessions, research consultations do NOT require instructors to be present.
